IPRO.NET Member Use Policy

Introduction
- In order to provide our clients with a pleasant
internet experience, Internet Professionals (IPRO) has created this member use
policy which works in conjunction with Services of
IPRO. All
members of IPRO are encouraged to read this policy carefully, for violation
of this policy may result in suspension of dial-in privleges and/or
cancellation of membership. If for any reason a member violates this policy,
but feels he or she is unknowning of this policy, ignorance is not a
reasonable excuse.
- IPRO encourages the sharing of information and
ideas over the internet. Although IPRO does not actively censor or control
the content of any web site, electronic mail transmission, mailing list, news
group or other material created or accessible through IPRO services, IPRO does reserve the right to remove any material from web sites that
IPRO finds
to be, illegal, potentially illegal, or in violation of this policy in any
way.
- IPRO reserves the right to restrict or provide
other options to individuals that stay connected far beyond "Normal Usage"
patterns. Dialup accounts are not the same as dedicated lines; please
disconnect when you are finished with your session.
Policy Violations
- Using a personal account for high volume or
commercial use. If you would like to provide high volume or commercial
services, please call IPRO to get information about obtaining a commercial
web site. Activities which are considered high volume or commercial include,
but are not limited to:
- Exceeding 5MB of disk space for your personal
email box. Any email box exceeding 5MB is subject to removal from our
server.
- Exceeding 1GB of traffic in a one month period
for free personal homepage web sites. Any free personal homepage web site
exceeding 1 GB of traffic will be treated and billed as a Business
Page.
- Using an IPRO membership for illegal purposes, or
in support of illegal activities is a violation of this policy. IPRO reserves
the right to cooperate with legal authorities and third parties in the
investigation of any suspected crime or civil wrong. Activities which are
considered illegal or potentially illegal include, but are not limited
to:
- Unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted
material including, but not limited to, duplication and distribution of text
or images from magazines, books, copyrighted software, or any other
documented copyrighted source.
- Exporting data or information in violation of
U.S. Export Control Laws.
- Posting or emailing annoying and illegal scams
such as 'make-money-fast' schemes, chain letters, or pyramid letters.
- Making fraudulent offers of products, items, or
services originating from your personal or business account.
- Attempting to access the accounts of others, or
attempting to penetrate security measures of any network system (hacking)
whether or not the intrusion results in corruption or loss of data.
- Threatening bodily harm or property damage to
any individual or group of individuals.
- Engaging in verbal harassment, or sexual
harassment, via any electronic transmission, to any individual or group of
individuals.
- Harassing others with news or email spamming.
Email spamming is defined as sending more than five similar mail messages to
the same email address. News spamming is defined as sending more than 10Mbytes
of data or 10 posts to a single newsgroup during a single session or sending
more than 10Mbytes of similar data or 10 similiar posts to a single newsgroup
during multiple sessions.
- Sharing your account password with others or
allowing use of your account by others (other than authorized users in your
household). At no time can there be simultaneous use of the same user name and
password combination, whether in same household, or not.
- Forging any message header, whether email,
newsposting, or other electronic transmission, in part or whole, originating
or passing through IPRO's network.
- Distributing viruses to or from IPRO systems, or
to and from any other system.
- Using any script, software or any device which
enables your account to stay logged on while you are not actively using IPRO's services.
- Using a personal account for the purpose of
operating a server of any type or reselling a personal account.
- Cross-posting to USENET newsgroups or posting to
unrelated USENET newsgroups.
- Spamming or disrupting any newsgroup with
frivolous, excessively vulgar, or repetitious posts.
- Installation of scripts, auto-responders,
cancel-bots or similar automated or manual routines which generate excessive
amounts of net traffic, or disrupt newsgroup or email use by other
members.
- Engaging in any of the above activities using the
service of another provider but channeling such activities through an IPRO account or re-mailer, or using an
IPRO account as a mail drop for
responses.
Disclaimer
IPRO does not assume liability to members or
others for any failure to enforce the terms of this policy. If you are found
liable for violating any of the above policies, we reserve the right to
terminate the offending account immediately without further warning and
without refund.
IPRO reserves the right to modify this policy at
any time upon, without notice. As an IPRO member you are expected to
frequently review this policy and required to abide by this policy within one
week of any policy change.
